Settlement Window

When you earn a commission, it doesn't become available for payout immediately. There's a 30-day settlement window first.

Why the waiting period?

The settlement window protects brands from paying commissions on orders that are later refunded or cancelled. This is standard practice across affiliate and ambassador programs.

How it works

  1. A customer uses your discount code and places an order — a pending commission is created.
  2. The commission sits in pending status for 30 days.
  3. During this time, if the order is refunded or cancelled, the commission is automatically voided.
  4. After 30 days, the commission settles and becomes eligible for payout.
  5. The next weekly payout cycle includes your settled commissions.

Timeline example

| Event | Date | |-------|------| | Customer places order | March 1 | | Commission created (pending) | March 1 | | Commission settles | March 31 | | Included in weekly payout | Next Monday after March 31 |

What if only part of an order is refunded?

If a partial refund is issued, the commission is recalculated based on the remaining order value. If the entire order is refunded, the commission is voided completely.

Can the settlement period change?

The 30-day window is set by the platform and cannot be changed by brands or ambassadors. It applies to all commissions across all brands.
